Marian Diamond Chapter

The Marian Diamond chapter explores the science behind the brain and spine, covering topics such as how the nervous system affects motor function, stress, sleep, memory, and learning. Students will explore trending findings in the neuroscience field and learn how the brain shapes everyday function, behaviors, motivations, and emotions throughout the course. We will discuss the causes and effects of neurodegenerative diseases, including but not limited to Alzheimer's disease, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), Parkinson's disease, and Multiple Sclerosis. Through engaging lessons and activities, students will walk away with core neuroscience concepts that can be applied to their daily lives, helping them understand the context behind human behavior and function.
