Ada Lovelace Chapter
Who was Ada Lovelace?
Ada Lovelace is greatly known for being the first computer programmer for writing an algorithm for a computing machine in the mid-1800s. Ada has received many posthumous honors since then. In 1980, the U.S. Department of Defense named a newly developed computer language "Ada," after her name.
When she was young, Lovelace showed a talent for numbers and language. She worked in fields of mathematics and science at a time where mostly men dominated these fields. We hope that she inspires us all to pursue our interests no matter what the obstacles.
Who's teaching?
Led by two rising sophomores at Dougherty Valley High School, Charlotte and Manahil are the Chapter Directors of the We Love STEM Ada Lovelace Chapter. This year, they are offering STEM classes to students from all over the Bay Area. They will be teaching Python, Competitive Math, and Java.
Charlotte and Manahil are passionate about STEM. They are excited to share their knowledge and experience in STEM with their students. They want to take this opportunity to inspire other students to gain interest and learn more about STEM.
