Alan Turing Chapter

Who was Alan Turing?

Alan Turing, an English mathematician and logician, was known for developing the first modern computers. He played an important role in breaking the Enigma code used by Germany for radio communications during World War II. His groundbreaking work in developing a procedure known as the Turing Test formed the basis of artificial intelligence. Alan Turing passed away on June 7, 1954. Still, his contributions to mathematics, cryptanalysis, logic, philosophy, and mathematical biology, and in new areas later named computer science, cognitive science, artificial intelligence, and life prove his legacy as a pioneer in the field of STEM.

Who's teaching?

Led by a junior at Dougherty Valley High School and a sophomore at Washington High School, Arushi and Ansh are the Co-Directors of the We Love STEM Alan Turing Chapter. Both have three years of experience in Java, Python, and Data Science and are excited to teach students from all over the Bay Area. Their course will cover topics, such as Advanced Python, Java, and Machine Learning.

These two hope to inspire new and returning students into pursuing an interest in the STEM field while turning complex concepts into fun projects. They are excited to share their knowledge and passion for topics in STEM, especially coding!
