Ishani's Project, "An Arduino-Based Wearable Device to Assist the Visually Impaired" earned her four different awards from NASA, the Synopsys Society of Women Engineers, the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE), and Trimble!

The main goal of her project was to create a device to help the visually impaired community be more independent, but be able to seek help immediately when they are in a dangerous situation. Ishani’s project had two parts, the first being The Third Eye, in which she created a wearable device that could detect if the visually impaired person was an unsafe distance away from an obstruction. The second part, HelpNow, was a device where the visually impaired person could easily contact their loved ones via a text message with their current GPS location in a Google Maps URL with the simple press of a button!
